Students of the Hospitality and Catering Management Department of HIBMAT University Institute of Buea embarked on a significant academic visit to IBIS Hotel, a renowned four-star luxury hotel located in Bonanjo, Douala, today. The educational tour is part of HIBMAT’s commitment to providing its students with hands-on exposure to the realities of hotel operations and management.
Led by their Head of Department and other university staff, the students were warmly received by the hotel’s management team. During the visit, they toured various departments including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage services, kitchen operations, and human resource management. The interaction with different departmental heads offered the students invaluable insights into the coordination, professionalism, and service excellence that drive the success of a luxury hotel.

The trip to IBIS Hotel follows a similar academic visit to Macksons Luxury Hotel in Limbe, highlighting HIBMAT’s deliberate strategy to expose students to some of the best hospitality establishments in the region. Through these experiences, students are expected to sharpen their skills, appreciate global standards of service, and build their confidence as future leaders in the hospitality sector.

The students expressed gratitude to the management of IBIS Hotel for the warm reception and detailed demonstrations, noting that the visit was both inspiring and enlightening.
HIBMAT continues to champion a practical approach to professional education, ensuring that its graduates are not only knowledgeable but also industry-ready.
