University of Buea, Cameroon — The atmosphere was electric as the HIBMAT University Institute of Buea (HUIB) proudly joined over two dozen universities from across the Littoral and South West Regions to compete in the University Zonal Championship (CHAZU Zone C), officially launched at the University of Buea.

The week-long championship, which kicked off in grand style, was presided over by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo, who officially opened the games. His presence marked a strong endorsement of youth development through sports in higher education.

HIBMAT made its presence felt from Day One, fielding a strong delegation of athletes and officials who were eager to showcase the institution’s commitment to excellence—not only in academics but also in sports.
From athletics to judo to shot put, HIBMAT athletes stunned the crowd with their raw talent, resilience, and competitive spirit. The energy, coordination, and sportsmanship displayed by Team HUIB were a reflection of months of training, discipline, and passion.
