The 7th Matriculation Ceremony of HIBMAT University Institute of Buea, Douala Campus, took place on December 6th, 2025 at the Douala site. The ceremony began with an Opening Mass celebrated by the University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Solomon Lyonga, in the presence of the President/Founder Dr. Jude Chilaka, the Rector Prof. Ayonghe, the Registrar Dr. Chou, and other senior university officials.

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Solomon Lyonga urged the new students of HUIB Douala Campus to embrace God in all their pursuits. He reminded them that their character after graduation should reflect the values and discipline of the University that trains them.
During the academic session, President/Founder Dr. Jude Chilaka expressed gratitude to the major universities, the Ministry of Higher Education, and other stakeholders for their continuous support. He highlighted HUIB’s proud history as a beacon of professional education and excellence and encouraged Douala Campus students to uphold this tradition. Dr. Chilaka also acknowledged some of the challenges faced at the Douala Campus, assuring students that steps are being taken to address them, including plans to relocate the campus to a permanent site with improved facilities similar to those in Buea.

The President further thanked the Douala students for actively participating in extracurricular activities alongside their colleagues in Buea. He cited the election of a first-year Douala Campus student as Miss HUIB 2025, who now represents the institution across both campuses. In recognition of her new role, Dr. Chilaka announced a 50% scholarship for the newly crowned Miss HUIB.

Representatives from the University of Buea and the University of Bamenda—HUIB’s mentoring institutions—assured students that they are receiving quality training that meets national academic standards. They emphasized that certificates awarded to HUIB graduates carry the same value as those issued by UB and UBa. They encouraged students to shun examination malpractice and remain committed to their studies.
The ceremony concluded with the matriculation oath, administered by the Registrar, Dr. Chou, during which about 100 students were officially admitted as bona fide members of HIBMAT University Institute of Buea.
