Buea, December 20th, 2025 – The Amphitheatre of Campus B, Molyko was a spectacle of color, energy, and celebration as HIBMAT University Institute of Buea (HUIB) held its 14th Convocation Ceremony, crowning the achievements of nearly 1,000 graduates from HND, B.Tech, BSc, and MBA programmes.
The campus was alive with excitement from the early morning, as families, friends, and guests poured in to honor the graduates. Students, resplendent in their colorful gowns and caps, moved with pride and anticipation, creating an atmosphere of pure jubilation. The sound of laughter, camera shutters, and congratulatory cheers filled the amphitheatre and surrounding lawns, reflecting the hard-earned triumphs of the Class of 2025.

The ceremony began with a solemn Holy Mass, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Solomon Lyonga, the University Chaplain, setting a tone of gratitude and reflection. Soon after, the academic procession brought graduates into the amphitheatre in a coordinated display of dignity and pageantry. The air was thick with emotion, as parents beamed with pride, friends waved banners, and faculty members applauded the accomplishments of their students.

One of the most memorable moments of the day was the oath-taking of the pioneering students of the School of Health Sciences. These trailblazers, the first cohort in the program, stood together with solemn determination as they pledged to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics, service, and dedication in their chosen field. Their oath was met with loud applause, signaling both a milestone for HUIB and a promising future for health services in Cameroon.

Throughout the day, graduates took turns walking across the stage, receiving their scrolls, and posing for photos, each step echoing months and years of dedication, late nights, and perseverance. The colorful academic regalia, combined with the smiles and cheers, created a vivid tableau of celebration, pride, and accomplishment.

The vibrancy of campus life was further enhanced by cultural performances and music, adding rhythm and color to the proceedings. Traditional songs, modern tunes, and comedy from rising star CG filled the air, celebrating not just academic achievement but also the spirit of unity, community, and excellence that defines HUIB.

In his remarks, the President and Founder, Dr. Jude Chilaka, commended the graduates for their resilience and hard work, urging them to carry forward the university’s values of professionalism, integrity, and service. He encouraged them to remain proud ambassadors of HUIB as they embark on the next chapter of their lives, whether in Cameroon or abroad.

The 14th Convocation Ceremony was not just a recognition of academic success—it was a celebration of dreams realized, milestones achieved, and the promise of a future bright with opportunity. For the graduates of HUIB, it was a day of joy, pride, and unforgettable memories, and for the pioneering Health Sciences students, it marked the start of a legacy of excellence in healthcare.
