Buea, May 23, 2025 — In a significant step toward strengthening professional health education in Cameroon, the HIBMAT University Institute of Buea (HUIB) and the University of Buea (UB) today signed an extension of their Specific Partnership Agreement for the training of students in health-related disciplines.
The official signing ceremony took place in the boardroom of UB’s Central Administration and was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buea, Professor Horace, and his executive team, as well as the CEO of HUIB, Dr. Chilaka Jude, accompanied by senior members of his delegation.
Under this renewed agreement, HUIB is formally authorized—under the academic mentorship of UB—to continue offering Direct Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) programs in Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging, and a range of other critical health fields.

“This partnership is a reflection of our shared commitment to producing highly skilled health professionals who can meet the growing needs of Cameroon and the sub-region,” said Professor Horace during his address. “The University of Buea remains committed to mentoring institutions like HUIB to ensure high academic and professional standards.”
Dr. Chilaka Jude, CEO of HUIB, expressed gratitude to the leadership of UB for their continued trust. “Today marks a renewal of our vision to provide quality, professional health training that is both practical and transformative. We are proud to work with UB in empowering the next generation of healthcare leaders.”

The collaboration between HUIB and UB, which began in 2021, has led to notable success stories, with HUIB producing graduates who are making meaningful contributions in across Cameroon and beyond. The renewed agreement further solidifies the position of HUIB as a leading private institution delivering accredited professional training in alignment with national and international standards.
