In a vibrant display of unity, talent, and youthful energy, students of HIBMAT University Institute of Buea (HUIB) were the talk of the town as the University officially launched its club activities for the 2025/2026 academic year—an annual tradition that remains one of the institution’s most anticipated events.
Hundreds of new students from the Buea Campus were joined by some of their counterparts from Douala Campus, all glittering in colorful club T-shirts. The students marched proudly from Mile 17 to Campus B at HIBMAT Street, Molyko, transforming the major streets of Buea into a lively parade of music, dance, and celebration.

The procession, led by the President/Founder, Dr. Jude Chilaka, accompanied by his close aides, attracted widespread attention. Traffic slowed to a crawl as residents lined balconies and storefronts to watch the joyous procession of mostly newly admitted students dancing their way toward campus.

Upon arrival, the atmosphere intensified with a flurry of activities carefully designed to give the freshmen an unforgettable introduction to university life. The campus burst into excitement as students enjoyed free ice cream, drinks, and food—an intentional gesture by the administration to welcome them warmly into the HUIB family.

The hours-long festival featured top-tier entertainment from both comedians and musicians. Rising comedy star and HUIB alumnus Tabaski delivered laughter-packed performances, while music sensation Asaba thrilled the crowd with energetic songs. Students, who had earlier identified their preferred clubs—ranging from Music and Drama to Science, Entrepreneurship, Media and more—danced alongside lecturers and administrative staff in a celebration of the institution’s rich extracurricular culture.

One of the highlights of the day was the election of the new Mr. and Miss HUIB, a tradition that celebrates confidence, poise, and leadership among the students. The audience was also treated to dramatic displays and performances from various clubs, showcasing the impressive talent hidden within the student body.

The event reaffirmed HUIB’s commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also creativity, leadership, and personal growth. By promoting social activities and talent development, the University continues to build a vibrant, memorable, and value-driven campus life that shapes well-rounded professionals.
