Transformative Convocation at HIBMAT University Institute: Prof. Njimanted Godfrey Inspires Graduates

 

In a remarkable convocation ceremony attended by notable figures in Cameroon’s Higher Educational sector, HIBMAT University Institute of Buea-HUIB orchestrated its 12th convocation, honoring Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelors in Technology, and inaugurating the 2nd batch of Bachelors in Science and Masters in Business Administration.

A congregation of over fifteen hundred students, faculty, and stakeholders gathered at the picturesque campus for the event, commencing with a solemn Holy Mass led by the institution’s chaplain, Reverend Father Solomon Ikundi. In his sermon, Father Ikundi urged the graduates to recognize the importance of spirituality and encouraged them to embody good Christian values in their communities.

Following the spiritually uplifting Mass, Dr. Jude Chilaka, President, and CEO of HUIB, took the stage for a captivating address. Dr. Chilaka, mesmerizing the audience, praised the graduates for their outstanding achievements in HND, BSC, and BTech programs. He stressed the significance of networking and urged graduates to join the Alumnae association while emphasizing their role as exemplary ambassadors for the institution.

“As you step into the professional world, armed with the knowledge and skills imparted by HIBMAT, remember that success is a journey, not a destination. Your potential is limitless, and with determination, resilience, and a passion for lifelong learning, you are well on your way to making a meaningful impact in your chosen field. Congratulations, Class of 2023,” said the president.

The distinguished guest speaker, Prof. Njimanted Godfrey, delivered a compelling keynote address, cautioning graduates against the ‘brain drain’ syndrome prevalent in society. Prof. Godfrey expressed confidence in the transformative potential within the graduates, emphasizing their crucial role in contributing to national development.

The ceremony featured the recognition of outstanding students through the presentation of prizes, inspiring others to strive for excellence. The commitment to hard work and growth was evident as students pledged to elevate the institution to greater heights.

Representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, led by Secretary-General Prof. Gabsa, expressed satisfaction with the students’ results and marveled at the talents nurtured at HUIB. Representatives from mentor universities, the University of Buea and Bamenda, echoed similar sentiments, departing with a sense of accomplishment.

As the day concluded, graduates and their families left the ceremony, ready to embark on entrepreneurial journeys, and face the challenges of the job market with confidence, carrying the spirit of HIBMAT University Institute of Buea into the next chapter of their lives.
